This weekend is the big sale Saturday here on the farm.
We have gone through the barn and the house and the garage and tomorrow it all has to go. There is something SO FREEING about just clearing out the stuff isn’t there? I still need to go through the cabin but I’m thinking that is a winter project.
It is so beautiful here right now. The air is just the right amount of crisp and the leaves are changing on my Autumn Purple Ash. I planted a second one last year just because of the color in the fall. It’s my favorite.
I think of all of my plants getting ready for the long winter. The time when they get to rejuvenate, grow their roots a little stronger and put all of their energy into getting ready for next Spring. Their nesting time. This is when I like to nest too. My mind turns towards crafting and making our home nice. I bring out the crock pot more and cook the yummy comfort foods. I love fall for the colors but there is so much more to it than that for me. My heart loves fall.
Fall is also PUMPKIN time!! I cannot explain it but pumpkins make me SO HAPPY!!!! Seeing them in all shapes and colors just makes me smile. Hopefully sometime in the next couple of days we can make a trip to the pumpkin patch and gather some up for the porch. But in the meantime I made this little beauty for our upcoming class.
Suzie Stroup from Black Sheep Flea will be teaching THIS GORGEOUS class on the 28th of October and she is the bomb.com. If you haven’t met Suzie and soaked in some of her coolness you should probably come to this class.
This Sunday is the last day to get our fantastic incentive for signing up for the Chalk Art of the Month Club (let’s just call that CAMC from now on.) It’s a really good one. If you purchase a Chalk Board from my Chalk Couture site…it has to be 9×12, 12×18, or 18×24…and sign up for the first month you get the second month for FREE. That can be a value of up to $35 depending on which size board you buy. That, my friends, is a pretty killer deal. True story.
Let me just leave you with one of my favorite recipes. You could make it this weekend! Easy and so delicious!!
- chuck roast or comparable beef roast
- 1 packet ranch dressing mix
- 1 packet au jus
- 1 stick of butter
- 9 pepperoncini peppers
Place roast in the slow cooker, spread packet contents over the roast. Put stick of butter on top, place peppers around the roast. Cook on low 8-10 hours. We serve it on ranch rolls (crusty and chewy) that have been grilled with a little butter and some of the juice to dip it in. The drippings also make gravy that is soooo good!!!
Have a beautifully wild weekend and do something nice for yourself!!
