As I write this I am sitting in a tiny old camp trailer named Gus.
It is deer camp time and I am the camp cook. I love knowing that I will be here providing nourishment for my people after early mornings and late evenings hiking in the cold, wet mountains.
I would rather be here than just about anywhere.
I love the mountains. Being up here where the air is clear and I can see the stars at night while we gather around a campfire.
Staying safe and cozy in Gus while the wind blows is one of my happiest places.
I needed some time away from all the noise of the valley and these mountains of Utah are my silence. Some time to refocus. To remember how small I am in the great big world.
There is nothing more humbling to me than to be on the top of a mountain surrounded by quiet beauty.
It has been five days of listening to my youngest as we share some cocoa every morning while the others are away. Five days of walks with the dogs through the trees and the grasses.
I’ve completed things I wanted to accomplish for my little business without the distraction of social media, appointments, kid’s homework, or everyday life. I’ve had moments of silence like I haven’t had for months. That deep silence that comes from being somewhere uninhabited. Heaven.
In the soft light of a stormy day I worked on a project I have wanted to share with you for a long time now.
A carefully curated collection of inspiration gathered up in one place.
There are 100 of them. Many are from Bella Grace Magazine; you know how much I love those pages. Consider them a gift from my wild heart to yours. They would be such a beautiful thing to use in an art journal, or to hang on a mirror where you can see them every day, there are also many that would serve as insightful journal prompts. I hope they will inspire you, give you hope, make you look at your world a little differently, or just make you happy.
