You know those things that happen sometimes in life and you just know there is something greater than you orchestrating?
We held our first Soul Restoration retreat in the mountains last week.
Four weeks ago there was a situation with the house I was supposed to rent, so we changed houses.
I walked into the home the other day and it was ‘just the right one’. Cozy, warm, comfortable, inviting, beautiful.
I had a conversation on the phone with one of my guests a few weeks ago. She was kind and gracious and lovely when I really needed her to be. She came through the door last week and I knew, instantly, we were kindreds. She IS kind and gracious and lovely and a 100 other things. She brought with her a whole bunch of magic. She was the Frances to my Jet.
There was a woman in a class in the Art Cabin a few weeks back. She said something that was so courageous and brave it blew me away. We were put directly in each other’s path that day. She brought a whole lot of spunk and laughter with her to the retreat. As well as her courage, love, and wisdom.
A dear friend showed up. She brought with her a willingness to share what was in her heart. It was beautiful to sit in this space with each other.
A few years ago, at one of my art retreats, there was a guest so full of snark I knew instantly we would be friends. She’s funny and warm and inviting and she brought her A game with her last week. She has a heart as big as Texas and makes people laugh. That, my friends, is a talent. Anyone who can make me snort laugh…well they are alright in my book.
Add to that, a fellow Soul Restoration instructor who has a soul so calm and warm that you can’t help but be better for hearing her thoughts and being around her.
Then to top it all off, I got to do this with my Mady girl. My oldest. She has been my Girl Friday these last few months. Doing so many of the important things and making beautiful gifts. I couldn’t have done it without her.
Then there is the most important teammate I have. The man. He has made beautiful things to personalize the home we gathered in. He hung twinkle lights. Made sure everything was working just right. He took care of the littles, worked, cleaned the house, all of the important things at home were taken care of. Then he came to the house in the mountains and washed dishes, took down twinkle lights, and packed it all away until next time. Hugged me and told me he was proud of me. I couldn’t do any of it without him and his support. I really couldn’t. He’s my rock.
This experience was magical. Truly. Each person was right where they needed to be. We were all brought together in this place, at this time. So much love was freely given. They opened their hearts and shared what was inside. We sat and truly saw each other for who we are. Women, mothers, daughters, sisters, souls. Brave Girls. So much power in one place. Incredible, magnificent, and pure.
Being able to create a safe space and teach this beautiful curriculum is my heart’s dream. I hope to be able to do it many many more times. I hope to be able to do it with YOU.
